Facebook,Twitter,magazines, the news. All of these things have contributed to the destruction of society today. Wherether we turn, there is something or somone telling us how to look, how to feel, we’re never good enough for society anymore. We’re either too fat, too skinny, too tall, too short, we’re the wrong coloured skin. This is the one thing that I hate about the world we live in nowadays, if we dress or act differently, if we don’t comform to the rules of the world, then we are judged, we are called every hurtful name under the sun. All because we do not want to be a sheep, we want to live our own lives, in our own unique way but for some deluded reason, that is considered wrong.
Because of the way the media have manipulated the younger generation, we are seeing more cases of anorexia, bullemia and sometimes even suicide! This is because some people don’t like the way they look because they don’t have the “perfect” body like the celebreties on the magazine covers. This “perfect” image is created with photoshop and barrells of makeup, it is IMPOSSIBLE to replicate a computer generated image in real life. Young people unfortunately don’t understand this so they keep trying to do the impossible and become extremely ill because of it.
This HAS to stop and it needs to stop now! The magazine editors need to stop photoshopping these perfect images onto their covers, the advertising companies for beauty products need to stop labelling their products as the “perfect solution” for everything because it isn’t genuine or true. The only solution for this growing problem is for the media to stop brainwashing society and for the younger generation to wake up to the fact that EVERYONE is perfect in their own way and everyone has something great about them and your true friends will love you no matter what you look like!
I’m going to end this post with a plea to all of the worlds media, stop brainwashing society into thinking they are not good enough, let us live our lives how we want to live them, we don’t judge you, so what on earth gives you the right to judge us?
